ABOUT US: The Hollywood Humanitarian Council (HHC) was established to create programs that give a voice to the voiceless through symposiums that include pitch presentations by innovators and altruists, as well as panel discussions by esteemed figures from the Hollywood and philanthropic communities as participants.
The HHC established the Hollywood Gives Back® Project to create awareness and the spreading of humanitarian ideas through Symposiums – Pitching Sessions and Panels supporting solutions to both social and human conditions worldwide, and Galas recognizing people and/or organizations that have contributed to the betterment of their communities or society at large, so that we can spark global change.
THE FOUNDER: Carlos de Abreu is an Internet pioneer that launched the Hollywood Network® online, in 1994. He is the founder and CEO of the Hollywood Network® Inc., an entertainment, marketing and live event production company, which mandate is bridging the gap between established Hollywood and the global community. He studied economics at the University of Witwatersrand, South Africa, and film at UCLA.
In 1997, he founded the prestigious Hollywood Film Awards®, which launch the Awards season.
His vast experience in brand marketing earned him executive positions and contracts with Cartier International, American Express, and the Italian Government among others. He also founded a book publishing company, Custos Morum Publishers, and co-founded the North American Marketing Services, Ltd., an international luxury goods corporation with offices in three continents; North America, Asia and Europe.
Mr. de Abreu has executive produced various entertainment projects and he is the co-author of the national and “The New York Times” bestseller, Husband, Lover, Spy: A True Story,” St. Martin’s Press, as well as “Opening The Doors To Hollywood,” Crown Publishing.
